KB180100 - Some forms won't load

SYMPTOMS

When you try and load a form from the Forms Library or just by double clicking a VSF file the form doesn't load. You may also notice the the FormReader.exe will remain hidden in your processes.

CAUSE

Some forms use Scripting like VBScript and require cscript.exe to run them, and Norton Anti-Virus has bugs that block the use of this file without even warning you.

RESOLUTION

To get around this you need to either get a fix from Norton which currently is not available or you have to turn off Norton's Script Blocking. To turn off Script Blocking follow these steps:

1.) Open Norton Anti-Virus
2.) Click your Options or Settings button (Depends on the version of Norton you have installed)
3.)

Look on the left side in the System Navigation tool
Your second option should be "Script Blocking"
Click it.

4.)

You should now be in the Script Blocking options screen where you can choose to Enable or Disable Script Blocking:

Uncheck "Enable Script Blocking (recommended)"

5.) Click "OK" to apply the changes.
